The article is devoted to the modern instruments and institutions of innovative enterprises support in St. Petersburg. The author analyses indicators of business development in Russia in the first half of 2020 and concluded about the impact of adverse environmental factors on business. The main stages of the innovative enterprise life cycle are identified, and the main institutions and support tools in St. Petersburg are systematized. These tools can be used both to overcome the crisis period in the economy, and to develop innovative ideas in the post-crisis period. Based on the analysis of support opportunities, the author proposed recommendations for the strategic development of innovative enterprises in the post-crisis period.
