Increasingly, the term "multi-literacy" is found in scientific sources, but it is
relatively new for Russian-language works. Because it is borrowed from the English language, there
are terminological differences. The article argues that there are significant differences between the
concepts of "media literacy" and "multi-literacy". Following previous studies, this article does not
find a consensus on the definition of multi-literacy in the research literature. Considering the history
and role of the term, determining its place among related concepts is an urgent task for the further
application and development of multi-literacy skills in continuing education.
