The paper deals with the terms of kinship used to denote older relatives and in-laws in the story “To hell with you, Mitro!” by a contemporary Hindi woman-writer K. Sobti. Due to the considerable variability of kinship terms, the author manages to form with their help a peculiar system of secondary nomination of heroes making their images more vivid due to the additional linguistic characteristics.
