The article deals with the analysis of the lexical units in the texts of the labour market discourse. The examples were collected in the German press. Much attention is given to the neologisms, which appear in the German language because of many changes in the modern job world: new forms of employment and the new technologies, which have changed the modern workplace. To the most often used lexemes belong several loanwords from the English language and terms of economics, social science and medicine. The lexic of discourse reflects the problems in this sphere. It is also shown, what kinds of metaphors and idioms are used.
