The role of agrotourism in strengthening the economic potential of rural areas is characterized. The experience of rural tourism development in the Republic of Belarus, which has similar conditions for the development of this type of economic activity, is considered, which makes it possible to recommend it for use in the Russian Federation. The tourist attractiveness of agricultural centers of Russia is characterized. A set of measures for the development of rural tourism in Russian regions, developed taking into account the experience of the Republic of Belarus, is proposed.
