The specificity of adult recognition of word meaning of 5-11 years old children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD, n=10) and their typically developing peers (TD, n=10) are considered in the paper. The features of speech development of children with ASD and TD children are described on the basis of logopedic report, acoustic and phonetic analysis methods. Adults on the basis of auditory perception correctly recognize meaning of a smaller number of words of children with ASD comparing with TD children. The children's words recognized by adults with different probabilities differ in their temporal and spectral characteristics.
