His article is devoted to the study of the grammatical and lexical features of the Burgundian dialect of the XI - XIV centuries, as well as the modern regional features of the vocabulary of the French language in the territory of Burgundy. The transition of some features of the Burgundian dialect to patois, the oral language of the inhabitants of Burgundy of the XV - XVII centuries, follows certain patterns. The classification of the most common Burgundian words and expressions from the novels of the writer Jean Taboureau and from the special literary works is presented. The article presents a survey of French students living in the territory of Burgundy, and analyzes the results obtained.
