Modern criticism is in a state of crisis. The methodology for studying the conditions of criticism was the concept of historical development as a change of turns: linguistic, iconic, medial, and only emerging curatorial. One of the reasons for the decline is related to the economic sector. Previously, the power of criticism was justified by the market demand for it, but with a change in economic conditions it has lost its power, the critic, as a figure of the art system, leaves it, losing his influence and making room for another subject of the art world. In the place prepared by criticism as a method, the figure of the curator emerges. It is in him that the industry sees an ally for commercial interaction.
