Considering the increasing role of network interaction in current public policy, the author examines targeting as a technology of election campaigns, and in particular, micro-targeting in social networks. At present, microtargeting can be presented as one of the possible alternatives for carrying out door-to-door campaigning as the candidate's “message” creates an inclusive voter effect. The article discusses not only potential positive changes but also limitations associated with the use of microtargeting.
