The research is aimed to define the content and interconnection of psychological effects of hippotherapevtical lessons with
children having health limitations. Children with disabilities, their parents and hippotherapeuts voluntarily participated in the
research. The research design involved using included standardized observation. The parents’ and hippotherapists’ observation
results served as the main source of information about the state and behavior of children in classes with horses and after their
completion.
The methods complex included modified observation maps. With the help of created maps it was possible to record
emotional, communicative, motivational, regulative, behavioral, somatic and energetic manifestations required for the formation
of the adaptive potential of children with disabilities. The revealed psychological effects of hippotherapy have different significance
for parents and hippotherapeuts. The hippotherapy sustains positive emotions, creating contacts with other people, increasing
energetic resources and helps children having disabilities to expand their adaptation potential
