The Arctic is a region that is very popular among modern scientists from various fields: Economics, Geology, history, and international relations. More and more countries are seeking to participate in the international division of labor in the region, as well as gain control of the territory. The article illustrates and analyzes the main directions of foreign policy in the Arctic region of two countries: Russia and China. The author describes the selected areas (development of the Northern Sea Route , support for Arctic ecosystems, preservation of peace in the region, and development of the oil and gas industry), and then highlights the main tasks of the two countries. Speaking about the NSR, the author cites the positive aspects of the development of this project, as well as actions that have already been taken by States.Special attention is paid to the development of the joint tourist market, the problems of which are also presented in this article. Thanks to statistics on the number of Chinese tourists visiting the Murmansk region, the authorconcludes that it is necessary to eliminate existing shortcomings in the tourist sphere of the Russian Arctic zone. As a result of the study, a list of areas in which cooperation between States is possible, as well as the main prospects for interaction, is presented.
