This article is dedicated to the study of the medical lexicon of
Norwegian language and ways in which it reflects the naive world view (naive picture of the world). The material of this study are lexical pairs “scientific term – corresponding popular term” that were gathered from Norwegian journals and websites on medicine. The inner forms of the popular terms for illnesses are analyzed and further classified in order to see how these naive terms are formed.
