This article explores the problem of double contingency in communication between humans and robots. The term „double contingency‟ refers to challenges associated with the need for both parties to have a shared understanding of meanings and to adapt to each other's interpretations and reactions. Robots may encounter difficulties in understanding the nuances of human communication and shared meaning.
