The article is devoted to the conceptualization of the notion “sexual culture” within the framework of modern sociological discourse. This paper presents a critical review of different theoretical interpretations and areas of empirical sociological studies of sexual culture in Russia and internationally. Introduced an original interpretation of “sexual culture” concept, demonstrated its heuristic potential, shown the structure of the sexual culture and its classifications.
