In modern social and political sphere it is believed that convention occurs at the level of intentions of the participants of communication. J. Gray defines the status of convention as modus vivendi (temporary agreement). The mechanism of action in the communication is the “attack on the foreign territory”, a violation of the convention. Examples of violations of social conventions in an advertising text are given.
