The article presents an analysis of the relationship positions Livonian branch of the Teutonic Order in the period 1525–1561 and the specific of recruitment of fellows of this organisation. The author highlights their origin from Westphalia, where the spread of Protestant ideas took place more slowly than in other parts of the Holy Roman Empire.
