The article, firstly, briefly lists some literary and philosophical contexts in which there was a negative attitude towards the idea of the common good. Secondly, using the partial identity of the idea of the common good with the idea of the good of the people, the author of the article tried to describe the reasons for the contradiction between the ideas of the common good and of the byzantism. Among the important consequences of the idea of the common good are the following: simplification of culture; destruction of the idea of the Divine origin of power; destruction of the idea of Divine justice; destruction of the Christian moral ideal. Any of these consequences is in conflict with the idea of byzantism.
