This article is aimed at presenting a critical attitude to the possibilities of implementing the sustainable development concept. It is shown that the basic law of capitalism contradicts its implementation for all countries, regardless the level of their development. The phenomenon of "Colonization 3.0" is presented as the modern phase of the evolution of "pumping" the resources for the development of capitalism due to its global center-peripheral arrangement. It has been established that this arrangement determines the reproduction of "innovative imperialism", which contributes to the reproduction of inequality but not the sustainable development. Sustainability marketing and logistics are defined as the main disciplines of the theory and practice of sustainable development. Weak development of such disciplines as Macromarketing and Macro-Social Marketing in Russia, that are the theoretical basis for the sustainable development, is highlighted. The theoretical-conceptual suggestions and logical-graphic models presented herein could be used as a didactic material.
