The study was conducted with the aim of studying the relationship between the experiences gained by young people in partnerships and self-changes of personality. Based on a theoretical analysis of the literature, the key research concepts were operationalized: experience, partnerships, and personality self-changes; the theoretical model of the relationship of the studied parameters was proposed, with personal characteristics that mediate them, reflecting the personality's activity and subjectivity and possible spheres and levels of self-changes. The sample of the study consisted of 100 people aged 20 to 30 years (average age 23 years). Research methods: a survey (including the author's questionnaire and narrative), a questionnaire “The level of development of personality subjectivity” by M. A. Shchukina, a questionnaire of causal orientations of E. Deci and R. Ryan in adaptation of D. A. Leontyeva et al., questionnaire “Personal readiness for change” in N. N. adaptation Bazhanova and G. L. Bardier. Mathematical and statistical data processing: comparative, regression, factor analysis. It is shown that the acquisition of new cognitions, skills and experiences is a powerful incentive for self-change, however, the level and areas (intrapersonal or external; adaptation or personal growth) of these self-changes are different. In particular, for respondents who are in partnering relationships that satisfy them, these self-changes are significantly more likely to be classified as personal growth and development than for respondents who are in relationships characterized by inequality and / or low significance. It has been established that among the components of the experience gained, the most significant predictor of self-changes is cognitive experience, however, the connections between the experience gained and self-changes are not direct, but mediated by the characteristics of autonomy and personality dependence.
