The present article deals with some problems of geopolitical socialization of students in Russian economic universities. It is emphasized that these students are likely to occupy key positions in the governance of Russia. Considering the geopolitical discourse as a tool of soft power, the authors conclude that it is necessary to take action regarding certain changes of teaching/learning in Russian higher school. The article is focused on: (1) mandatory increasing an attention toward methodological and worldview disciplines (political economy, in particular); (2) resuming the function of upbringing students; and (3) understanding English and Russian departments are considered as an intercivilizational linguistic-sociocultural interface where the geopolitical socialization of students has to take place. An example of arranging geopolitical discussions in the frame of International Marketing syllabus is shown.
