The introduction of a new, fifth state antitrust legislative package in Russia has brought new challenges to law enforcement. In this research, we have measured the effectiveness of the new criminal policy, including both its advantages and downsides. We also have assessed the quality of legal writing based on the applicability of the said law, and according to the pre-existing antitrust regulations in other law branches. We came to the conclusion that the solution lies not only in the criminal law reform, but heavily depends on the changes in criminal procedures, law enforcement activities, crime prevention and thereby on the whole spectrum of the state's criminal policy.
