The article defines the concept of "language policy", its meaning, and its relationship with migration policy in the modern world. Language policy is considered as a set of norms, ideological principles and practical measures to solve language problems in society and in the state. The possible types of such policies are analyzed: constructive and destructive, as well as the consequences of their implementation. It is revealed that the destructive language policy often acts as an initiating factor in the emergence of inequality and conflict situations between ethnic groups in the national state. It is established that in order to prevent destructive language policy, it is necessary to integrate the interests of different ethnic groups. It is also concluded that it is important to pay attention to the current language situation in the country, to the attitude to the language of society through their own life experience, which can often differ from the official political discourse.
