Social competence forms the core of social capital at the level of individual, social groups and society as a whole. The authors focus on the structural components of social competence and technologies for their development. Definite methods and forms of development of social competence based on the synthesis of social reflection and practical action are described. Approaches to overcoming the deficits of social competence among various social subjects are considered. The factors that hinder the development of social competence are singled out.
