The article is devoted to the translation (Łosk, 1577) of A. F. Modrzewski's pamphlet “De Republica emendanda” into the Polish language. The author attempts to define and analyze the original corrections in the text of Modrzewski. The author raises the issue of the translation, which actualized the treatise for the Commonwealth in 1570s. It reveals the contribution of K. Bazylik to the representation of the Polish republican experience by A. F. Modrzewski. An attempt is also made to identify the motivations and aspirations of the translator.
