The media text is included in the general practical activities of society, utilitarian by nature. The text is created for the here and for now, which means that the media text in its existence is connected with certain coordinates of social space-time. Over time, the media text loses its relevance, its communicative status changes. The actual media text is not described by the category of chronotop, because the text does not form its virtual world: media speech is a means of everyday communication of society. The reader determines the meaning of verb forms of the media text, taking into account its communicative status. The inclusion of the reader in what is happening, the sense of immediacy of the perception of what is happening by the journalist is achieved by the use of the verbs of the imperfect kind in the form of both present and past time.
