In 2017 a textile artist, Walter Erhard received the Golden Lion (Venice Biennale). This is not just the result of the work of one artist, but also the result of the creative incarnation of textile in the world. Textile develops new spaces for creativity: conceptual art, street art, recycling art... However, beyond that, it intervenes creatively in the territory of classical art forms and gives them a different degree of freedom. The purpose of this study is to analyze the diversity of types and forms of modern textile sculpture, as well as to identify the causes of the relevance of the “new” material. Today textile sculpture represents all forms and various materials. Textiles expand the possibilities of the genre due to the diversity of the material composition, unlimited color palette, and a wide range of textile techniques.
