The paper is dedicated to the Chinese motives in the works of V. Pelevin "The USSR Taishou Zhuan. Chinese folk tale (ruler)”, "Chapaev and the Void” and "Generation P”, which actually play a significant role in the unique evolution of philosophy and individual poetics. The paper reveals that Pelevin’s works are marked by the influence of the Chinese classical stories and legends "The Kingdom of Nanka”, "Dream of Chuang Tzu” and “Journey to the West”, characterized by the reception of Zen Buddhism and Taoism. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of “illusion”, “reality” and those popular concepts, included in the monuments of Taoism - “Tao de Ching” and “Chuang Tzu”, which are also accepted by Pelevin through intertextual narrative structures and exotic cultural-semantic construction owing to totalitarian progress.
