The article deals with the criticism of the concept of volition developed by British philosopher Gilbert Ryle in the middle of the XX century in his famous book «The Concept of Mind». The author of the article considers four arguments presented by Ryle (they are called as linguistic argument, practical argument, antinomical argument, argument from regress) and concludes that Ryle has failed his attempt to demonstrate that volition is a pseudo-concept.
