On the Russian-language Internet, Buddhism is represented by a wide variety of websites of datsans, khurees and khuruls, communities and organizations of different branches of Buddhism. However, all these forms of digital presentation of Buddhism are rather poorly studied in sociology and religious studies. In the past decade, articles have appeared devoted to the consideration of the general characteristics of the Buddhist part of the Russian-speaking segment of the Internet, Russian Buddhist sites and electronic resources, and some Buddhist communities of the social network vk.com. In this article, we focused on highlighting the results of our long-term research (2019-2022), aimed at identifying the connection and mutual influence of offline and online realities of Russian Buddhism.
