. The article is devoted to the analysis of the beginning of the political biography of Abdullah Ocalan, the leader
of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party. The politicization of Ocalan’s worldview from an early age was facilitated by several factors,
the main of which are the national and social oppression of the Kurdish peasantry, as well as the influence of the Turkish
socialist tradition on Ocalan within the student community of Ankara. After analyzing the failed experience of Turkish
revolutionary organizations, the future leader of the PKK began the systematic construction of a Kurdish political party,
