The proposed report systematizes the most well-known classification of managerial roles of Raymond Meredith Belbin [Belbin, 2009], formed during specially organized business games for managers of industrial companies in Great Britain from the late 1960s to 1981. As one of the coordinates of the positioning scheme for manager roles, PEST analysis variables are selected, the other coordinate divides all the roles into strategic and operational ones. As a result of the modernization of the system of managerial roles, it became possible to interpret the identified RM. Belbin pairs of compatible in one person roles and complementary roles, which must be separated by different persons. The role of the Idea's generator (Plant) in the management team's core is analyzed. A new pair of complementary roles is proposed, the Implementer - Pedant (Completer Finisher), corresponding to the technological function and playing a leading role in industrial enterprises. The formation of a team of managers is considered in the dynamics of the firm life cycle stages.
