The article interprets autobiographical writing on the basis of metaphor philosophy of modern german philosopher H. Blumenberg. Autobiographies, memoirs or travel writing can be considered as such examples of autobiographical writing. The central metaphor which should be considered is metaphor «life is a journey», which is present in almost all autobiographies. Within such methods as philosophical hermeneutics and topological reflection author of the article asks about specific topology of «the life is a journey» metaphor, about necessary conditions for using this metaphor. On the basis of Blumenberg’s concepts of «absolute metaphor» and «world-time» the concept of «aesthetic» topology is proposed, which is associated with Kant’s feeling of Sublime. Through this problems article investigates specific position of the man in the world, his attitude towards the lifeworld, towards his personal time and space which he describes through images of the self.
