This article deals with the key problems concerned with a point of view. In the prominent scientists' works this concept is construed in the narrow (a point of view from which described events are perceived) and in the large (the type of this event) sense of the word. Owing to multifold ways of interpretation various authors attribute this subcategory to diverse aspects and understand its role in the communicative "author-reader" scheme differently. Moreover, there are several ways to nominate this concept (a point of view, points of view, and focalization). Some scientists (B. Uspensky, W. Schmid, S. Rimmon-Kenan, M. Toolan) took into consideration both variants of interpretation, that was reflected in their own concepts. Furthermore, authors find it challenging to give particular predicates. Hence, this article is a multilevel analysis of an important concept point of view / focalization.
