The paper is dealing with economic relations known as "sharing economy", "collaborative economy", "participatory economy", etc. and their recent development due to the combination of information technologies - that led to the emergence of new forms of "economies". The authors conducted a literature review as well as a pilot comparative analysis of different projects based on the principle of "sharing" and tried to define the phenomenon of "new economy" by identifying its specific features and peculiarity of these relations as compared to other "economies" that existed earlier or exist now but do not possess these particular characteristics. The result of the study is a definition of what the "new economies" are and what they are not. Authors define a core of "new economies" as a combination of three elements that could be described as "peer to peer sharing i-conomy" and suggest prospective directions and methods for the further analysis of the inner structure and relations within the diverse field of "new economies".
