Spatial planning is becoming increasingly important in all countries of the world. Each country has some experience that should be taken into account in the area's development planning. This article discusses the problems of urban planning in Sweden and particularly in Stockholm. There is an effective system of planning but still it has some complicated challenges such as housing shortage, lack of green spaces and insufficient infrastructure. The decisions that were made are presented in the article
