The article is dedicated to the influence of the October 1917 Revolution to the development of the Uruguayan left movement, especially in the context of the history of the Comintern. Also article analyzes the participation of the Uruguayan communists in the activities of the communist and world labor movement. One of the main tasks of this article is to demonstrate how the Russian events influenced to the political and social life of Uruguay, to the genesis of Uruguayan communism and to the development of Uruguayan left as real political forces. Based on the documents of the Comintern, this article explains the stages of the development of the Uruguayan left in the context of the global left.
