N2 - The influence of the phase mixing of relativistic-electron-beam (REB) particle orbits on the beam-head erosion rate during the beam transport in a scattering gas-plasma medium is investigated using the analytical theory. It is shown that the phase mixing results in a reduction of the head erosion rate.
