The paper considers the concepts of the existential and heroic as permanent problems of modern philosophic reflection. The experience of the everyday and the experience of eventful course of life are studied as social and ontological constants, in the frameworks of which the hero's possibility to join the present and the past is thoroughly discussed. As the examples the authors take historical and philosophical and anthropological material as well as the experience of realization of the phenomenon of hero in the critical situation in the fiction.
