N2 - Over the past few years, Russia has often been at the center of major international discussions (Ukraine, Syria, and others). Definitely, international policy has an impact on the welfare of Russian citizens. Partly, Russian authorities are trying to hide internal social problems behind international problems. The arguments of Russian politicians, on both the left the right generally coincide with regards to social policy. Political discrepancies mainly concern issues of economic development and international activity, but with regard to social policy, most advocate populist slogans about social justice.
