The Report on „Media and Democracy“ deals with the development of a free media and contains detailed studies of the situation of the media in fourteen developing and emerging countries in five regions: Latin America, Africa, the Arab world, the CIS countries and Asia. In the examined countries, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation strives to support the freedom of the press through training, education and regional cooperation. Unlike other analyses of media freedom, the KAF Democracy Report does not simply report on the year that has passed and on isolated incidents, but rather embeds the freedom of the press in the relevant legal and political contexts.
