N2 - The Artedian software has been used within the scope of the TOPCONS project. It provides input, storage, and access to records on occurrence of aquatic organisms in the eastern Gulf of Finland and a wide set of aquatic parameters on investigated localities and habitats. We provide an overview of the software and the database, a description of its current capabilities and functionality, and a basic characterization of the data contained within the database. Proposed are further applications of the database.
