N2 - The paper discusses psychological factors that determine the people's readiness to accept ongoing social and economic changes.Authors explorefactors that ensure: 1) regional political sustainability; 2) regional social and psychological sustainability; 3) the people's readiness to accept economic and social reforms. There are results from an empirical research that show a level of public satisfaction with results of an implemented socio-economic development strategy in a region of Russia.The findings evidence quit well the psychological reasons of an existing people's attitude towards activities held by political authorities.
