N2 - The study examines the main vectors of the impact of social networks on the form of political struggle, which, although partly acquiring a virtual nature, does not change its content. Based on the analysis of quantitative data of “Yellow vests” protest sites, as well as surveys on the social structure of the participants, the study deals with the technology origin and functioning of a new phenomenon of political linguistic and communicative community, acting in the social networks and is not connected with the traditional “really organized” political institutions and groups. The study focuses on the “political power” of this virtual community, i.e. limits of its influence on political decision-making at the national level.
