Investigations of Large-Scale Magneto-Plasma Compressor (L-S MPC), performed in our previous works show, that L-S MPC (outlet diameter 40 mm), operated in High-Pressure Residual Gas Regime (HPRGR) could generate comparatively long-lived (jet lifetime 50-70 μs) hypersonic plasma jets (Mach number 4,5-5) with high density (up to 1017 cm-3), temperature (up to 3 eV) and penetration ability (stagnation pressure more than 150 bar). These jets could be useful in applied plasmadynamics for development of a new type of plasma actuator for injection of high-enthalpy plasma jets both into quiescent gas and in supersonic flows with static pressure up to 100 Torr. Unfortunately, the energy characteristics of L-S-MPC are not suitable for real practical applications. It was the reason why the creation of miniature MPC with comparatively low input energy becomes very important. In the presented work the simplest model of Miniature MPC (MMPC) with effective outlet diameter 14 mm was constructed and examined. The results of these investigations demonstrate that MPC in mini-size variant operated in HPRGR has the similar mechanisms of jet arising as it large-scale analog, but with dramatically decreased input energetic characteristics (15-20 J/pulse for MMPC versus 0,6-1,5 kJ/pulse for L-S MPC). The last fact gives the opportunity for MMPC using as base element in possible constructions of array plasma injectors.
