The texture, fabrics and chemical composition of some spinel harzburgite modules in alkaline basalts from the island of Lanzarote, Canary Islands, have been studied. It is supposed that the harzburgites were deformed under high temperature and low stress conditions. The chemical composition both of the minerals and the rocks shows that the harzburgites are strongly depleted.
