A procedure for estimation viscosity of chalcogenide melts via the parameters of damping oscillations of an evacuated tube with the material under study hanging on a quartz thread has been suggested. An equation describing these oscillations has been derived. The results obtained make it possible to automatize both the measurements and the following calculation of the viscosity of glass-forming chalcogenide melts.
