The analytical and numerical solutions of a series of nonlinear boundary problems under the approached two-dirnensional theory of a layer and under the equations of the theory of elasticity are obtained. Comparison of results has allowed to establish reliability of the theory of a layer and to estimate its error in the problems considered.
