The approximation of cosmic dust grains by spheroids is widely used to model their optical properties. The spheroidal model combines relative simplicity, which in some cases makes it possible to find an analytical solution to the scattering problem, with sufficient flexibility in describing optical effects, including polarization. This work presents a new program able to calculate optical properties of layered spheroidal dust grains with nonconfocal concentric coaxial layers, based on the exact solution of the scattering problem by the extended boundary condition method in the spheroidal basis. The code’s results are intended to be used in the modeling of the polarized light transfer through the interstellar medium with the SKIRT package.
