One of the mechanisms from the museum of History of Saint-Petersburg State
University is being analysed. This mechanism is named after the French mathematician and
mechanician, supposedly the creator of this design, Jean Gaston Darboux. There is little description of
such a mechanism in the literature on the theory of machines and mechanisms. Its properties need to
be studied. At the laboratory workshop, simple formulas are found for the implementation of the
animation of the movement of this mechanism. This model for the mechanism of the 19 century is
created during the student workshop.
