Arabic and Islamic manuscripts still remain of great importance being one of the most valuable sources of information about the Middle ages, ancient technologies, science and culture. They cover a wide variety of topics and themes giving us some startling insights not only into the history of Europe and Middle East alone but the mankind as a whole. There are two major principles of the study of mediaeval manuscripts - the traditional, and innovative ones. Cooperation between conventional linguists and specialists in another sciences could bridge the gap between these two attitudes. Methods of mathematical and computer analysis, chemical analysis, Bio analysis of contaminations and organic substances, and non nondestructive methods of physical investigation. Each manuscript may be described as inherent set of objective quantitative and qualitative parameters and mathematical proportions which form its description. Handwritten artifacts often have traces of later impacts of different kinds, such as damages, supplements, organic and inorganic contaminants which may shed light on the origin of a document and history of its 'life'. All these features may be described in terms of objective data and may be a subject of computer analysis and modeling.
